Review: Dreamcatcher

Dreamcatcher by Stephen King
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Not one of Kings best. As I read Dreamcatcher, I never found a sense of foundation, theme, or even direction. This novel wandered from one place to another without making up its mind on where it was going. It felt as though King was walking through a dark room with a flash light, discovering the story as he plunked along through the blackness. It had a few good moments. But those moments couldn’t rescue the story from hundreds of pages of aimless wandering.

That being said, with over 50 books to his credit, many of them being absolutely brilliant, one has to grant King a few lemons. I am still, and always will be, a Stephen King fan.
