Review: Doctor Sleep

Doctor Sleep
Doctor Sleep by Stephen King

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Did you ever wonder what happened to young Danny Torrence after escaping the Overlook Resort back in The Shining? This novel answers that question. We all rooted for young Danny. But in Doctor Sleep, we learn that his psychic abilities have taken their toll on him. After swearing never to drink, due to his father’s abuse spurred on by alcoholism, Danny caves in and follows in his father’s dark footsteps. This terrifying story is about Danny’s struggle with alcoholism. And, oh yea, throw in a group of gypsy vampiric monsters and you get on heck of a great story.
